Yoga Practice

We have all heard in childhood the phrase "Health is Wealth". But with the onset of youth and influenced by the progress of Science in general and Medical Science in particular we forgot this proverb. We did not value healthy home-made food, sleep, physical activity, exercise, closeness to nature, etc. We over indulged in fast food, alcoholic drinks, late night parties, closed AC rooms and minimal physical activities.

Now suddenly towards the end of the year 2019, nature has given us all a rude shock and made us realise the truth of that old proverb. The novel Corona virus or COVID 19 has made us understand the great value of good health and a sound immune system. It has also made us realize that the modern way of life is a wrecker of health and immunity as we can see that the casualties are considerably higher in the more developed countries.

So, what is the message for us ? I will not say that we go back fully to our old ways of living. But it is definitely necessary to re-adopt certain time-tested old systems to maintain our health and fitness, reduce affluence generated obesity through weightloss measures, improve our immunity and strengthen our respiratory system by Yoga. The writing on the wall is very clear.
